Fixatex is an electrical contractor working predominantly in the UK housing sector. They have 15 office-based employees and over 50 mobile engineers on the road carrying out a range of works, including: testing, installation, maintenance and planned works.

The challenge


Fixatex initially found managing their engineers to be a challenge due to working entirely from a paper-based system, which mainly consisted of email chains, to track jobs.

This made the actual process of tracking jobs and reviewing job data extremely time intensive; the office team often found information would go missing and billing errors would occur. Fixatex therefore couldn’t easily identify and amend service delivery issues, nor could they confirm the validity of process changes with much confidence.

Without the appropriate communication tools, the back office team and mobile engineers could not connect effectively, which ultimately limited the amount of work possible for the team to take on.

Having formed ambitious future growth plans, it quickly became clear to them that this way of working needed to change.

The solution


Fixatex wanted to put the foundations in place quickly in order to benefit their future goals. Rob Candler, Chief Executive Officer at Fixatex commented:

The results

Fixatex have now been using Oneserve for over 5 years and carry out all of their reporting through the system. As a result they have been able to measure success and map the contribution Oneserve has had on their business.

By operating more efficiently, they have seen significant growth – their team has grown by 250%, totaling 15 office-based employees and 50 mobile engineers now using Oneserve.

They have gained new contracts, on a larger scale than they would have been able to manage previously, and since 2017 have hit every single monthly KPI to date. As a result, revenue has grown year on year; from 2016 to 2017 they saw a 28% increase, a 101% increase from 2017 to 2018 and 2018 to 2019 has seen a 52% increase.
