The impact machine downtime has on business

Businesses reliant on machinery to either manufacture products, or to help serve their clients, are facing fierce competition and ever-developing customer demands. Customers want consistency, speed and cost efficiency and competitors are all working hard to achieve this, but in a way that outperforms their peers.

As such, to remain competitive, businesses must keep costs and overheads down, whilst improving overall productivity and customer satisfaction. As a consequence, machinery and assets are under a huge amount of strain to perform efficiently.

Oneserve commissioned an independent survey to establish how machine performance, or more importantly, how poor machine performance, impacts UK businesses. Senior representatives at 500 machine-reliant UK organisations were interviewed and the results put the scale of the challenge into perspective.
